| Battlefield: Bad Company Dog Tag Issue |
Author: Hitman / Comments: 0 / Digg This! / Stumble It! / Fark It!
Electronic Arts recently posted up a new blog discussing some new issues with the dog tags. Take a look here:We’ve been looking into the lag issue that some of you have been experiencing lately which specifically concerns the collection of Dog Tags.
Currently collecting either:
- more than 300 Dog Tags in total
or
- more than 100 unique Dog Tags
will result in users experiencing lag on their console.
Until we resolve the issue (no ETA yet, we’re working on it) permanently we have decided to implement a temporary fix. This temporary fix will only trigger if you have reached either of the two Dog Tag limits mentioned above.
Should you reach one of the above limits then the temporary fix will be triggered and your number of collected Dog Tags will no longer increase. However: you will still gain points for the Dog Tag kill as you normally would.
We’ll work on fixing this asap, but keep in mind it could be a little while.
We realize it’s not the ideal situation, but don’t worry, keep racking up those Dog Tag Kill Points! |

| The Fighting Beagles And the Attack at Dawn |
Author: Hitman / Comments: 0 / Digg This! / Stumble It! / Fark It!
Battlefield Heroes website is a fan made story about the game. Take a look here:“Ears,” murmured Sergeant Major Pepper, which was how the Sergeant Major pronounced ‘yes’ in the Queen’s proper English when acknowledging Private Potts’ question on whether the Sergeant Major had fought at Schweinhaven. As in: “Ears, I was there.”
Amid the broken brick of what had once been picturesque Wienerfurt Marketplatz, a pyramid of melons remained the only display that had survived the market’s complete destruction. They could still be purchased three for a Casper, the basic unit of Nationalist funny money.
Sergeant Major Pepper stabbed at the topmost melon with his bayonet and removed it neatly from the stack before continuing on with his story of the attack on Schweinhaven by The Fighting Beagles, an elite commando unit the Sergeant Major had once been attached to for a brief period.
“We formed up near the river which ran south of the village,” began Sergeant Major Pepper as he recalled the battle for Schweinhaven. “We were acting in support of a ‘command-o’ team called The Fighting Beagles.” Sergeant Major Pepper liked to denote Commando teams by accentuating the ‘o’ as he felt it paid verbal homage to the snap and crispness those commando teams carried in their swagger. |

| Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update |
Author: Hitman / Comments: 0 / Digg This! / Stumble It! / Fark It!
Forgotten Hope 2 mod team is back today with their first release of their mod. Take a look here:Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. Today's news item is no doubt the most requested and anticipated vehicle for Forgotten Hope 2, so without further ado we would like to present the Tiger! As you can tell from its sand-coloured skin, this is the early Tiger I model, which was used in North Africa. In patch 2.15 you will be able to find this vehicle on the Mareth Line map. The Tiger was modeled by K96, skinned by Toddel and coded by ctz.
The development of the Tiger I started in May 1941, when the order was given to Porsche and Henschel to design a heavy tank that used the 88mm KwK L/56. Over a year later in July 1942 when both prototypes were tested the Henschel Tiger proved to be the better one and was approved for production. Only two Heavy Tank Battalions (the 501st and 504th) equipped with Tigers were sent to North Africa, having only 20 Tigers each. Although the first of these Tigers arrived in November of 1942, the last of them were still waiting to be shipped in Sicily when the Axis forces in North Africa Surrendered. Despite their small numbers, the Tigers in North Africa left a lasting impression on the allies forces.

| Call of Duty: World at War Facts |
Author: Hitman / Comments: 0 / Digg This! / Stumble It! / Fark It!
PC Games Hardware had the chance to interview Cesar Stastny the lead on Call of Duty: World at War. Take a look here:PCGH: Call of Duty 4 was developed cross platform and there were no major differences between the console and the PC version as far as visuals and other technical aspects is concerned. Will this be the case for Call of Duty: World at War too? If yes, what are the advantages of a cross platform development? If no, how do you optimize your technology for the different platforms?
Cesar Stastny: The only difference between consoles (Xbox360/PS3) and PC will be if a player has a machine that is less powerful than actual consoles. In this case, you may dial back some visuals to compensate. If you are running on a modern multicore CPU and Nvidia 8800 video card you will get the same look and gameplay experience with the same or better frame rate and equivalent or higher video resolutions (1680x1050 or even 1920x1080).
The big advantage of cross platform development is the guarantee that the PC gamer can play the same game on the same date as the consoles - this is not a classic port which usually ships later and from a different studio than the original developer. Treyarch has a lot of experience in cross platform development. We were one of the first studios to ship on all major consoles (Spiderman 1 and 2) and we have been doing this consistently for the past 5 years, shipping all of our games on all consoles on the same date.
